He was predeceased by: his spouse Daisy Mateja; and his child James Mateja. He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Meisner, John Mateja (Josephine), Daniel Mateja (Sandy), Gail Mateja, Linda Fonte, Kenneth Mateja (Sue), William Mateja (Maria), Laurie Mateja and Waverly Road; and also Crbut. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
