As we bid adieu to Herman's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Herman has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn Menken and Wagner; and his son-in-law James McCullough. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Schwabe; his children, Paul Menken (Terri) of Hanahan, SC, Laura Spiegel (Fred) of Kewanee, Christina McCullough of Kewanee and Betsy Wilson (Mike) of Lisbon, IA; and his brother Henry Menken of Clark, MO. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rux Funeral Homes (313 Market St, Galva, IL 61434). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to Abilities Plus or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
