It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip Bates of Knoxville, Illinois, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on July 26, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Bates and Christine Bates (Shadis). He is survived by: his stepchildren, Elizabeth and Gregory; his wife Cristine Bates of Knoxville; his children, Allison Bates of Cedar Rapids, Hannah Bates (Joe Dreshar) of Cedar Rapids, Will Bates of Springfield and Michael Bates of Knoxville, Illinois; and his siblings, Roger Bates (Sharon) of New Windsor and Joyce Waters (Tom) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
