He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen McCarty and Hazel McCarty (Plowman); his spouse Shirley Followell; and his siblings, Jerry McCarty and Imogene Pinnell.
He is survived by: his children, Stanley McCarty (Kristy) of Mt. Vernon, IL, Brad McCarty (Misty) of Kinmundy, IL and June Showalter (Gary) of Dix, IL; his grandchildren, Kent Neal, Carrel Randol, Shelby McCarty and Cody Johnson; his great grandchildren, Haedyn, Peyton and Rowan; his siblings, Darrell McCarty of Kinmundy, IL and Loretta Folkert of Cissna Park, IL; and his brother-in-law Ron (Followell) of Effingham, IL..
