He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Smith and Dorothy Smith (Green); his wife Anneliese E. "Ann" Kemptner; his children, Timothy "Mole" Smith and Dianna Turley; and his sisters, Myrtle "Mert" Nelson and Joyce Walker.
He is survived by: his son Jim Smith of Kewanee; his sister Betty Frampton of Kewanee; his grandchildren, Lisa, Ashley, Brandon, Kourtney and Logan; and his great grandchildren, Kristopher, Morgan, Nora, Knox, Theo, Max, Eli, Millie and Delaney.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rux Funeral Homes (507 S Chestnut St, Kewanee, IL 61443). The military honors will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant View Cemetery (1000 Pleasant View Ave, Kewanee, IL 61443). The inurnment will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the same location.
