He was predeceased by: his parents, Maynard Peterson and Elizabeth Peterson (Sibley); his grandson Levy Grant Hammer; his sister Susan Peterson; his in-laws, Wilson, Ferne Berge, Jack and Donna Huggins; his brother-in-law Ted Sumner; and his son-in-law Loren Stiegelmeyer (Libby Berryman).
He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Tyler Pierson (LaNette), Breckane and Brigam; and his grandchildren, Kari Hepner (Terry), Hunter, Dhylan, Madisyn, Teagan, Kaydince, Kelsey Main (Ryan), Kala Hammer, Drew Stiegelmeyer (Rachel Moon), Kendall, Adalyn Smythe, Kati Grimes (Matthew), Gwenevere, Jeremiah, Emmalee, Kassidy, Joel Hammer, Kodi Calhoun (Joseph), Eleanor, Sydney Huggins, Marlowe, Amelia and Sophie Huggins.
Memorials may be left to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
