With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen R. Nunez of Kewanee, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on March 26, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Bawn and Jessie Bawn (Wilkinson); her husband David A. Nunez; her foster parents, Jack Benedict and Ilene Benedict; and her sisters, Arlene Snyder and Audrey "Jean" Eckman.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Horsley (Ronald) of La Fayette, Lawrence "Frank" Nunez of Galesburg and Aaron Nunez-Claeys (Victoria) of Georgia; her grandchildren, Alexander Welch, Alexis Welch, David Horsley, Johnathan Horsley, Lena, Lathe and Landen; and her sister Gleynafa Page of St. Louis, MO.. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
