She was predeceased by: her parents, William P. Sherbeyn and Margaret V. Sherbeyn (Huffman); her husband Chester E. "Chet" Elgin; and her sisters, Donna Tucker and Marietta Clausen.

She is survived by: her sons, Marty Elgin (Laura) of Burlington, WI and Jack Elgin of San Diego, CA; and her grandchildren, Alexis, Amanda and Nathaniel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
