James L. Golby Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James L. Golby (Kewanee, Illinois), who passed away on November 12, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Elizabeth Larkin Golby; his wife Alice Ann; his siblings, John (Barbara Golby) and Regina (Roger Anderson); his brothers-in-law, Bernie Cromien and Jack Barry; and his sister Patricia Yepsen.

He is survived by: his children, Katherine Stewart (Eric) of Dwight, Margaret Gustafson (Craig) of Kewanee, Dr. Angela Golby of Morton and Jim Golby (Kristen) of Austin, Texas.; his grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Burd (Jake), Sadie Burd (The Great), Ethan Stewart, Melissa Stewart, Matthew Gustafson, Dr. Alison McDonald (Connor), Elizabeth Witty (Thomas), Kat Golby, Maddie Golby, John Golby and Luke Golby; his great grandchild Peter Golby; his sisters, Catherine Cromien (Kate), Elizabeth Barry (Wink) and Eileen Golby; his brother-in-law Maurice Yepsen; and his cousins, Rose Pratt (Larry), Tim Golby (Jackie) and Doug Miles (Dorothy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Kewanee Schools Foundation or to the Black Hawk East Foundation.
