He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest William and Thelma Hulslander (McBride); his wife Lois Mae Golden; his siblings-in-law, Louis and Jenny Golden; and his grandson Aaron Ainley.

He is survived by: his children, Wayne Hulslander (Lynette), Brenda Peterson (Donald Sr.), Rose Ainley (Phillip), Timothy Hulslander (Tina), Tamara Hulslander Hamrick (Elmer), Marcia Hulslander, Vanessa Hulslander and David Hulslander (Theresa); his grandchildren, Erick Ainley, Brian Ainley (Angie), Joshua Ainley, Donald Peterson Jr., Cody Peterson, Andrew Hulslander (Stacie), Holden Hulslander, Shannon Hamrick, Makayla, Abigayle, Treavor, Parker and Kennedy Hulslander Tyler Hulslander (Chelsea); and his great grandchildren, Carter Peterson, Paige Shaw, Adrianna McDaniel, Kenzleigh, Wyatt Hulslander and Olivia Carranza-Ainley.
