He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Strandberg and Helen Strandberg (Vigor); his siblings, Tommy and Nancy Zurcher (Ed); and his brother-in-law Pete Rebout (Shirley).

He is survived by: his wife Carol Jean Rebout; his children, Donnie Strandberg of Toulon, Mark Strandberg of Kewanee and Robin Strandberg of Toulon; his grandchildren, Alexi Strandberg and Levi Strandberg; his siblings, Dick Strandberg (Alice) of Woodhull, Andy Strandberg (Patty) of Swedona, Sally Charleson (Don) of Woodhull and Kathy Newberg (Ron) of Sherrard; and his sisters-in-law, Teresa Sparlin (Brent) of Chicago and Mary Wozcinski (Mike) of Rock Island.
