Betty Mahnesmith Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Mahnesmith (Kewanee, Illinois), who passed away on October 9, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith Piester (Bull) and Earl "Shorty" Piester; her husband John Mahnesmith of Buda; and her sisters, Dorothy Smiley, Doris Loring, Shirley Osborn, Beverly Rewerts and Virginia Grabbe (Gee-Gee).

She is survived by: her sister Kathy Lay of Yuma, Arizona; her children, Connie Nyert (Tony) of Kewanee, Michael Mahnesmith (Marchele) of Kewanee, Paul Mahnesmith (Jacki) of Las Vegas, Becky Henkins (Paul) of Kewanee, Thomas Mahnesmith of Kewanee and Jim Mahnesmith (Valery) of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Heather Nyert, Andrea Hofer (Rob), Becca Mahnesmith (Rob Jedlicka), Morgan Arnold (Dan), Prestina Mahnesmith, Scott Herbert, Jonathan Henkins (Taryn Strong), Jeremy Henkins (Sara Engelman), Jason Henkins (Carly), Joshua Henkins (Elise Roa), Craig Mahnesmith, Colin Mahnesmith, Madison Mahnesmith, Kennedy Mahnesmith, Rylee Mahnesmith, Ethan Park, Dontae Jeffries, Naviana Jeffries and Taylor Sanocki; and her parents-in-law, Roy Mahnesmith (Nancy), Betty Horton, Fred Mahnesmith and Garnafay Workheiser. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
