She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Peyer and Marie Peyer (Nelson); her grandparents, Mildred and Andrew Nelson; and her sister Ann Marie.
She is survived by: her husband Philip C. DeSmit; her children, Joe DeSmit of Osceola and Jenny Hodges (Chad) of Kewanee; her sister Jamie Hall of Kewanee; her grandson Andrew; her great grandchildren, Evie and Jameison; and her pet Zoey.
The funeral home will maintain compliance with COVID regulations and requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
