She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Pfeffer and Wilma Pfeffer (Foltz); and her husband Joseph Wardell Ruyle. She is survived by: her children, Denise Johnson (Rick) of Kenney, IL, Bryan Schanafelt (Robyn) of Scottsdale, AZ and Sheila (Steve); her stepchildren, Jeffrey W. Ruyle of Clinton, IL and Kimberly Jo Vinson (Brian) of Camdenton, MO; and her siblings, Marilyn Hintz of Sandoval, IL and Roger Jones of Naples, FL.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Janet Ruyle Memorial Fund.
