With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert L Nelson of Kell, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on August 29, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Chester Nelson; his son Keith Nelson; his great grandchild Malachi Kyles; his sister Jewell Nathdurft; his father-in-law David Dixon; and his son-in-law Gerald Dean Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Nelson (Dixon); his children, Dreatha Jackson (John), Connie Murphy, Martha Currie, Robert Nelson II (Chona) and Sherry Easley (Jon); his siblings-in-law, Beverly Robbins (Stan) and Michael Dixon (Helen); and his mother-in-law Loretta Dean Cox. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
