Landon Rankin Obituary

Of Kell, IL died January 20, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Lanny followed in the footsteps of his father and four brothers as a bricklayer. He graduated from Olney Central College, but his real-life study was of the American Indian culture. He attended area rendezvous and re-enactments and promoted the lifestyle by learning the art of beading, hide tanning, woodworking and flint napping.

He loved the outdoors especially from the flap of his teepee or porch of their cabin. He was a gentle and kind man who loved God and others and showed it by the way he lived. Funeral services for 'Lanny' Rankin will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Kenny Cripps officiating. Burial will follow at the Romine Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
