He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Grace (Mayne) and Max Edward Kennard; and his siblings, Max Edward Kennard II and Patricia Kennard. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Doty; his children, Wayne V. Kennard (Jeanie), Colleen R. Kensler (James), Cindy J. Griess (Ernest), Sherry Johnson (Pete), Sheila Anderson (Rick), Robert D. Kennard (Traci) and Tara E. Horrall (Matthew); and his sister Carmen Smith. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the 4-H Wabash County Youth Exhibition.
