Jarold Altenberger Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jarold Altenberger of Karnak, Illinois, who passed away on August 19, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Altenberger and Ora Belle Bunker Altenberger; his grandson Jason Treat; his siblings, Charles David Altenberger, Joe Altenberger, Eva Mae Crice, Josie Minor, Mary Frizzell and Freda Wood; and his half-siblings, Homer Cissel, Mary Wolford and Ruby Little.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Dunn Altenberger; and his children, Jarold B Altenberger of Karnak, Peggy Treat of Ullin, Laura Jean Harrison of Metropolis and Merry Belle McCarty of Stockton, Missouri. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
