He was predeceased by: his father E. Burton C. Mercier; and his grandparents, John C., Frances Gooding, Charles and Ruth Mercier.
He is survived by: his mother Mary L. Gooding Mercier of Carlock; his wife Gladys F. Mercier of Kappa; his daughter Meredith Diaz (Pedro) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Viviana and Owen Diaz of Bloomington; his siblings, Karen Crusius (Rich) of Bloomington, Mary Jo Adams (Sandy) of Carlock and Tom Mercier (Sandy) of Carlock; and his great-niece Ruby. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Community Cancer Center, The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundations or Moses Montefiore Temple, Bloomington.
