He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Otis and Ermagene Short (Findley); and his close friend Charlotte Gough. He is survived by: his children, Jon Short of Kansas and Teri Patton (Mike Schmidt) of Philo; his siblings, Duaine Short (Karyl) of Jerseyville, Illinois and Diana Huttes of Grafton, Illinois; his grandchildren, Clay, Tori Patton, Brian and Luke Short; his close friend Carol Coffman of Charleston; and his former wife Cathy Short of Savoy.
