He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert O. McCord Sr. and Avis M. McCord (Adams); his wife Marsha Lynn Culver; his grandson Nicholas McCord; and his sister Rita Elder.

He is survived by: his children, Douglas McCord (Tracey) of Oblong, C. Duane McCord (Kelly) of Imperial and Darra Walker (Chuck) of Kansas; his siblings, Larry McCord of Palestine, Robert McCord Jr. of Palestine, Brenda Reed of Eugene and Marsha Jackson of Mattoon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Bethany Walker (Ryan), Jennifer Jones (Collin), Nathan, Noelle McCord, Charlee Alexeev (Gleb) and James Walker; and his great grandchild Liam Douglas Walker.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Edgar County Shrine Club or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We also played in the fields behind our house on West Grand Prairie St. Palestine ,when we could muster enough to play. We could always count on the three McCord boys. We lost touch after the seventh grade when my family moved out of town. Carrol was a quiet, and a true friend once he knew you. My sympathies to the family.”
