He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Walter and Ruth Hereth (Squire); and his wife Mary Rosenthal. He is survived by: his children, Michael Hereth and Michelle Hereth; and his siblings, Junice Hereth of New York, Alan Hereth and Michael Hereth (Brenda) of Oregon. He is also survived by two grandsons, two granddaughters and three great grandchildren.

“I have known Dean and his family for many years, although we have not been in contact in quite a long time. He was a very good Christian man and worked for many years in saving souls. I am sad to hear of Mary and his passing. I hope his children will remember many memories from the years of service for the Lord. . God will give strength and comfort in this time of sorrow. “My heart aches with the loss of Dean (and Mary). During my college and young adult years they we like parents to me, and more. Dean was a close friend and mentor. When life presented struggles, Dean provided support. We would spend hours discussing the scriptures at many a local restaurant. He was the photographer at my wedding, a friend when I need counsel, and he helped carry my cross (literally). He is better off in heaven, but we all lost a true hero of the faith. God be with you my friend.”
