It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Gilmore of Kankakee, Illinois, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Tallman and Anna Tallman (Knynsberg); her husband David Gilmore; and her siblings, LeRoy Tallman and Mildred "Milly" Schaafsma (Arthur C.).
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Judy Oosterhoff (Richard) of Bourbonnais, Terry Schaafsma (Dianne) of Bourbonnais, Bruce Schaafsma (Bonnie) of Momence and Tamara Schaafsma (Patrick Weber) of Iowa; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Chad Fasig (Melissa) of Bloomington, Dr. Amy Fasig (Forrest Wing) of Washington, Misty Fasig of Washington, Kate Schaafsma (Nicholas Hornyak) of Wisconsin, Drew Schaafsma (Ashlee) of Lemont, IL, Anna Landrie (Jeremy) of Momence, Sally Brogan (Jospeh) of Momence, Jacob Schaafsma (Citlali) of Momence, Belinda Ferguson (Scott) of Georgia and Arthur Sells of Iowa.
