He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrie Ruth Bennett and Roosevelt Bennett Sr.; his wife Johnnie Mae Bennett; his children, Ron Christopher Bennett and Amy Bennett; his siblings, Roosevelt Bennett Jr. and Clara Ellis; and his grandchildren, Demetrius Bennett, Andrea and Lateisha Bennett.
He is survived by: his children, Samuel Bennett Jr. (Shmeka) of Gulfport, MS, Larry Bennett (Etopia) of Kankakee, IL, Tonya Baron (Lionel) of Kankakee, IL, Sharon Craig (Paul) of DeSoto, TX and Ingrid Gilliam of Lithonia, GA; and his siblings, Ruth Skinner of Harvey, IL, Clory Scott (Clinton) of Phoenix, IL and Ora Ellis of Hazel Crest, IL. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Vision MB Church (1501 E Merchant St, Kankakee, IL 60901). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
