It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Philip D. Hoekstra of Kankakee, Illinois, who passed away on February 3, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hoekstra and Delila Hoekstra (Derais); his wife Phyllis Barriball; his son Richard Hoekstra (Sharon); his grandchild Andrea; and his siblings, Pete Hoekstra, Simon Hoekstra, William Hoekstra, John Hoekstra, Dorothy Phillips, Sadie Lumkes, Rosalyn DeBoer and Kathryn Elizinga.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jackie Owens (Doyle) and Kim DeYoung (Danny); and his daughter-in-law Sharon Hoekstra. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
