She was predeceased by: her parents, Simpson Nelson Sr. and Chattie Mae Nelson; her siblings, John Westler Nelson, Luster Nelson, Wester Lee McCall and Bessie Marie Nelson-Jones; and her son Lamor Caffey.
She is survived by: her son Ricky Caffey of Minnesota; her siblings, Ida Okafor of St. Paul, Renda Bradley of Kankakee, Illinois, Simpson Nelson, Jr. of Chicago, Joe Nelson of Saint Paul and Oscar Nelson of Portland, Oregon; and her grandchildren, Cynthia Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana and Luke Caffey of Minnesota. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
