She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John and Evelyn; her siblings, Robert, Alice, Jeanette, Howard Shapiro and Mary D Dimpfl; and her nieces and nephews, Mike (Mary), Beth (Larry), Laurie (Dennis), Tom (Kari), Connie (Allen) and Bill.

She supported her sister in caring for their mother who had Alzheimer's and as years went on Joyce cared for her sister Mary.
