He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis Vine, Sr. and Sinnie Johnson Vine; his granddaughter Jo'Siah L. Vine; and his sister Annette M. Vine. He is survived by: his wife Clara Lindsey; his sons, John L Vine, III (Denise) and Joseph L Vine Sr. (Marquita); his grandsons, John L Vine IV (Tatiana) of Cypress, TX, Joseph L Vine, Jr. of Cypress, TX and Kevin Brooks of Cypress, TX; his brother Albert Vine (Becky) of Kankakee; his nephews, Delawayne Vine (Sandra) of Phoenix, AZ, Tanaia of Kankakee, Kierra of Kankakee and Sequan Morris of Kankakee; and his close friends, James Moore (Mary) of Chicago, IL and Nelson Maranda (Ruby) of Kankakee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (717 N Wildwood Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
