Fortin of Kankakee, Illinois, born in Hoopeston, Illinois, who passed away on June 7, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel D. Sr. Fortin and Lucille Fortin (Castonia); his former wife Gail Fortin (Readman); and his siblings, Ronald Fortin, Irene, Rosemary, Mae, RoseAline and Mary Louise.
He is survived by: his parent-in-law Beverly Jensen; his wife Beverly Fortin of Kankakee; his stepchildren, Gary, Jean Thompson, Michael, Lynn Thompson, Scott, Cindy Thompson of Kankakee, Lori Goss of Plainfield, Tina, Terry Hull of L'Erable, James, Judy Jensen of Advance, MO, Robert, Julie Jensen of Evanston, William, Sherry Jensen of Bradley, Pamela and Matthew Merrill of Bourbonnais; his sister Fae Halloway of Lowell, IN; and his close friends, Tom Fraher and Rich Stadds. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or the Aroma Park Legion.
