It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joann Phillips (Kankakee, Illinois), born in Five Points, Alabama, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Job Gunn and May George Payne; her siblings, Dorothy Brooks and Thomas Gunn; her daughter-in-law Wendy Gunn; her nieces, Gail Gunn and Diane Gunn; her nephew Thomas Gunn Jr.; and her great-nephew Daniel Morris.
She is survived by: her children, Clarence Gunn of Lansing, MI, Jacqueline McDaye of Kankakee, IL and Maxine of Kankakee, IL; her son-in-law Willie Collum of Kankakee, IL; her parents-in-law, Maryann Woods of Kankakee, IL and Ora Lynn of Kankakee, IL; her grandchildren, Jerry, Rico, Demarreus, Joshua, Bryan, Ryan and Hannah; her nieces and nephews, Robert Brooks, Maurice Gunn, Denise Edwards (Michael) and Michelle Wells; and her close friends, Rozella Thomas, Sylvia Bell and Terrance Lindsey. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
