It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Russell Davenport of Kankakee, Illinois, born in Independence, Missouri, who passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Davenport and Opal Lorraine Davenport (Young); and his wife Carol Kay Davenport. He is survived by: his children, David Davenport, Paul Davenport (Michele) and Karen Johnson (Dale); and his sister Dixie Thacker (Duane). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
