He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence P. Birr and Cecelia M. Birr (Roy); and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Clodi and Paul Birr. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Birr of Kankakee; and his children, Mary Jo Wilcox of Bourbonnais, Gary Birr (Jackie) of Dayton, OH, Dan Birr (Laura) of Crystal Lake, Jim Birr of Woodstock and Carol Weedon (Scott) of Bourbonnais. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Bishop McNamara or St. John Paul II Catholic Church.
