It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol M. Schafer of Kankakee, Illinois, who passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Eugene and Cecile Brault (Richard); her spouse Gene Richard "Dick" Schafer of Patrick's Catholic Church; and her siblings, Monica (Maurice Lambert), Joyce (Robert Cosgrove), Richard Brault and Joel (Patricia Brault).
She is survived by: her son Gary; her daughter-in-law Cheryl Schafer of Crystal Lake; her daughter Katy; her son-in-law Doug Leider of Wood Dale; her grandchildren, Danielle Schafer of San Diego, CA, Derek, Megan Schafer of Crystal Lake, Ryan Leider of San Antonio, TX and Lauren Leider of Wood Dale; and her sister-in-law June Brault of Edgecomb, ME..
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for masses.
