It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nelson Virgil Morton of Kampsville, Illinois, born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, who passed away on September 21, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence P. Morton and Dorothy Webb Morton; and his daughter Kimberly Launius (Darren). He is survived by: his daughter Terri Brown (Dennis) of Oak Ridge, Missouri; his grandchildren, Brittney Emery, Jessica Cook, Dustin Sebastian, Joni Warren (David), Jeffery Brown (Robin), Jeromy Pair and Brandi Washer; his sister Lafern Lane of Jefferson City, Missouri; his sister-in-law Mary Morton of Jackson; his close friend Charlotte Kearby of Kampsville; his pet Puff; and also Joan Baker of North Carolina. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
