He is survived by: his wife Francine Covey; his sons, Sam Dale Jr. Covey (Stephanie) and Joseph Julian Covey; his siblings, Christine Duncan (late David), Carolyn Hudgens (late Buddy), Bill Covey (Sandy) and Pete Covey (Connie); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Anderson (late Johnny), Julian Janota (Sandi) and Maureen Stewart (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
