She was predeceased by: her husband Ramon Mella; her parents, Anna Solkowski and Joseph Solkowski; and her siblings, John Solkowski (late Celia), Chester Solkowski (Mary Therese), Stanley Solkowski (Ann) and Bernice Ptaszkowski (late Benny).

She is survived by: her children, Susan Kurtis and Paul Jasien (Carol); her grandchildren, Jamie Kurtis, Emily Jasien and Chris Jasien; and her sisters, Mary Solkowski, Helen Wilczynski (late Edward) and Sophie Las (late Anthony). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
