He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanore Bonk; his parents, Agnes Bonk and Anthony Bonk; and his siblings, Daniel F. Bonk and Mary Bonk.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Nilsen (Allen), Jacqueline LaRosa (late David), Scott Bonk (late Nancy) and Raymond Bonk (Angela); his grandson Kevin Bonk (Morgan); and his brother Allen Bonk (late Suzanne). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
