He was predeceased by: his parents, Wladyslawa Kowalski and Edward Kowalski; and his siblings, Boleslaw Kowalski (late Janina), Kazimierz Kowalski (Mariola) and Peter Kowalski (Marianne).

He is survived by: his wife Stefania Kowalski; his daughters, Elizabeth Brettell (Ed) and Eva Ulewicz (Tomasz); and his grandchild Kalinka Ulewicz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous friends.
