He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Claude L. and Tressie A.. He was also cherished by his son, his brother, and many nieces and nephews.

One of his greatest contributions to the world however, was risking his life as a crew chief to C-130 Hercules aircraft during the Vietnam War, keeping supplies going in, and the injured coming out.

“Please forgive these late condolences. Victor and I were born on the same day in Union County. We went to school together though we did not associate a lot. Surprising, since we had a common ancestor. Our great-grandfather, John A. Brown, was Victor's great, great grandfather from his first marriage. We are descended from his second marriage. We lived west of Jonesboro, near John A.'s grave. Thanks to Victor for his service. We offer our sympathy to his family. A very good guy.”
