She is survived by: her children, Sharon Weakman (Jim) of Aurora, Robin Schirmer (John Bouman) of Maywood, Melanie Knutsen (Rashad Kaldany) of Washington, D. C., John Schirmer (Maria) of Taichung, Jim Schirmer of El Segundo, CA., Amy Schirmer (Ian Rossbridge) of Alachua, FL. and Carol Rich (John) of Wausau, WI.; and her sister-in-law Connie Wetzel of Westwood, KS.. She is also survived by grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
The lying in state was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (310 N Broadway St, Joliet, IL 60435). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
