Helen E. Lawson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen E. Lawson of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on April 7, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Helen departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Helen. Though Helen may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Helvig and Ida Helvig; the father of her children David Lawson; and her siblings, Marvin, Allen Helvig and Mary Shinaberger.
She is survived by: her children, Bob Lawson (Dawn), Greg Lawson (Candy), Cathy Meager (Jeff) and Mike Lawson (Donna); and her sister Elaine Armstrong (late Jerald). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home (507 S State St, Manhattan, IL 60442). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (416 N Chicago St, Joliet, IL 60432).
