He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth "Babe" Herman and Clarence "Mike" Mary Elizabeth; his brothers-in-law, Francis Kurtz and Richard Mathis; his mother-in-law Marie Spillie (Pucel); and his grandchildren, Michael David Pangrazio and Kassandra Lynn Pangrazio.
He is survived by: his wife Karen J. Spillie; his children, Renee Madrigal (Jose Cruz) of Joliet, David (Sara Choi) of Las Vegas, NV, Christine Plascencia (Ramon) of Lockport, Daniel (Vicki Young) of New Caney, TX, Angela Page (Dennis) of Joliet and Lisa Chavez (Jeff) of Joliet; his siblings, Mary Lou Payne (Jim) of Joliet, Betty Mathis of Lockport and Donald Herman (Coleen Meurer) of Rhinelander, WI; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Kurtz (Spillie) of Crest Hill, IL and Joseph Spillie (Carmen Pacheco) of Rockdale, IL; his close friend Mike Roath; and his special grandpuppy Susie Q.. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Homes - Joliet (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431).
