He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Barnes and Jewel Barnes (Fowler); his wife Jacqueline Mae Kinley; his granddaughter Karsen Barnes; his siblings, Helen Jackson (Rose Kerr) and Carl Barnes, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Jackson, Vernon Marks and Thomas Kerr.
He is survived by: his children, Glenna Savoia (Kevin Bleisch) of Mascoutah, Gregory Barnes (Farrah) of Mt. Vernon and Christie Barnes of Mascoutah; and his grandchildren, Dawn Mills (Tim), Lindsey Bryant (Max), Eric Barnes, Shaya Jackson, Karimee Delorme (Steve), Dalton Barnes, Nicholas Hayes (Maria) and Tiffany Gravitt (Jerry). He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
