He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Mercer and Wanda Mercer (Austin) of Greenville; his wife Debra Mercer of Johnston City; his son Derek Mercer (Brooke) of West Frankfort; his stepchildren, Wayne Marshall (Brittany) of Fillmore, Crystal Huff (Joshua) of Herrin and Melissa Boliard (Rexdon) of Fillmore; his grandchildren, Dalton, Liam, Vincent Mercer, Hailey, Gavin, Madilyn, Alysin Marshall, Aubrey, Dylan Huff, Nathan Meyer, Autumn and Donavan Boliard; his great grandchildren, Waylon Marshall and Ellie Meyer; his siblings, Dewayne Mercer (Shirley Snell) of Osceola, IA and Cynthia Mercer of Greenville; his niece Jenny (Jon); and his nephew Jeremy McLanahan.
