She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry H. Grant and Lena Elizabeth Grant (Sanders); her husband George E. Hazel; and her siblings, Mable Grant, Claris O. "Tot" Grant (Helen), Laverne "Cubby" Grant (Garland), Edward "Eddie" Grant and William "Billy" Grant.

She is survived by: her children, Kimbra Hazel-Lange of Springfield and Gregory Hazel (Kim) of Champaign; and her grandsons, Mathew Hazel (Ali Krogman), Christopher Hazel and Dr. Lauren Glaser. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
