He was predeceased by: his parents, Martino Castrale and Eleonora Castrale (ReFiorentin); and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Castrale. He is survived by: his brothers, Steve Castrale (Rose) of Evansville, IN. and Remo Castrale of O'Fallon, IL; his close friend Louise Haynes of Johnston City; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Castrale (Mary) of Lebanon, IL, Sara Beth LePere (Scott) of O'Fallon, IL, Susan Heathcott of Evansville, IN, Dave Castrale (Debby) of Evansville, IN, Joe Castrale (Pam) of Evansville, IN, Mary Ann Patterson of Evansville, IN, Jane Castrale of Evansville, IN and John Castrale (Andrea) of Mitchell, IN.. He is also survived by 13 great-nieces & nephews and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.

Due To Health Concerns Related to The Covid-19 Virus And By The Signing Of Executive Order By The Illinois Governor, if you are planning on attending the visitation or service it is REQUIRED you wear a mask and social distance yourself from others.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in Johnston City or the Joe Castrale Scholarship Fund.

“In loving memory of Baptista Castrale, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I have known Bob my entire life. I had 3 high school classes with him and still remember he dinged me 1\2 a point for misplacing a comma on a physics theorem. He was so bright and so funny but along the way was told to make sure everyone got it and he did. He was the only teacher/prof in my life that only gave A's to 98 and above. He held himself to that standard. I will miss knowing he is with us.”
