He was predeceased by: his parents, Parker East and Ruby Frances East (Vanausdoll); his son William Randall East; his siblings, Vernon East, Marjorie Love, Dorothy Cope Davenport and Lillie East; and his great grandchild Garrett Short.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy East of Jerseyville; and his children, Melody Vetter, Roger Vetter of Jerseyville, Debbie Koch, Doug Koch of Naples, David East of Kane, Turese of Jerseyville, Kent Beiermann of Jerseyville, June East of Jerseyville, Jeri of Jerseyville, Rusty Kuehnel of Jerseyville, Pati of Jerseyville, Mark Carpunky of Jerseyville, Rosemary of Jerseyville, Doug Mann of Jerseyville, Matt of Jerseyville and Ann East of Jerseyville. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Grace Community Baptist Church in Jerseyville or to Shriners Hospital.
