He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Jackson Rice and Dorothy Rice (Warner); his brother James Warner Rice; his siblings-in-law, Daniel Fraley, Terry Walsh and Sheila Goodman; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Lois Goodman.
He is survived by: his wife Gwenda Rice of Jerseyville; his children, Pamela (Kevin Weber), Stacey (Patrick Stufflebeam) and William A. "Will" Rice III (Miranda Starks-Rice); his grandchildren, Alexandra, Ethan Weber, Thatcher Stufflebeam and William A. "Liam" Rice IV; his sister-in-law Barbara Shephard of Houston, Texas; and his cousin Stanley Short of Jerseyville. He is also survived by his in-laws.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to Jersey Community Hospital Foundation or First Baptist Church Foundation.
