It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vonita Sue Crone of Jerseyville, Illinois, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Laverne Murrell and Evelyn Murrell (DeSoto); her former husbands, Ronald L. Malley and Robert Manning; her husband Mitchell V. Crone; and her brothers, Gary, Randall, David and Vernon Murrell.
She is survived by: her children, Michael (Janine Malley), Brenda (Michael Smith) and John (Debra Malley); her grandchildren, Mitchell Malley (Megan Longendyke) of Kampsville, Kristen (Thomas Kirbach), Austin (Larisa Malley), David (Megan Smith), Caleb Smith (Faith Egelhoff) of Jerseyville and Trevor Smith (Jaden Newingham) of Jerseyville; her great grandchildren, Hadley Malley, Gauge, Lillian and Lucas Smith; her stepchildren, Diane, Bill Bates of O'Fallon, Breion, Sue Crone of Brighton, Rhonda, Bill Bilbruck of Brighton and Fonda Owens of Brighton; and her brothers, Larry Murrell of Texas, Tracy Murrell (Eileen) of Colorado, Laverne Murrell Jr. (Lonnie Murrell) of Texas and Beverly Adkins (Louie) of Fieldon.
Memorials may be given to the family, in care of the funeral home, to assist in the placement of a monument at Sue's gravesite.
