It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Louise Shanks of Jerseyville, Illinois, who passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert O. Malloy and Eva Lena Malloy (Ritter); her husband Paul D. "Sam" Shanks Sr.; her son Paul D. "Sammy" Shanks Jr.; and her brothers, Gene Malloy, Robert A. Malloy, Thomas Malloy, James Malloy and Terry Joe Malloy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marsha Lott of Jerseyville and Patricia Sweeney of Jerseyville; her grandchildren, DeWayne (Cheryl Lott), Adam (Beth Lott), Ryan (Kathy Lott), Kristina Lott of Jerseyville, Natasha (Tim Harmon) and Alexis Sweeney of Williamsville, NY; and her great grandchildren, Walker, Samantha, Mason, Hayden Lott and Ava Harmon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (1308 IL-109, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (306 N Washington St, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at the St. Francis Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic School in Jerseyville.
